Marshall Vance is an assistant professor at Virginia Tech’s Pamplin School of Business. Prior to joining Virginia Tech, Marshall taught at the University of Michigan and the University of Southern California. Dr. Vance earned a doctorate in accounting from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Marshall’s research focus includes studying the design and performance effects of equity compensation plans. His research has received multiple awards from the American Accounting Association, and he is a fellow of the Institute for the Study of Employee Ownership and Profit Sharing at Rutgers University. Marshall lives in Blacksburg, Virginia, with his wife and five children.
