David is the senior director of executive compensation within Cisco Systems HR Acquisitions and Total Rewards organization. He is responsible for leading the executive compensation function, coordinating the Compensation and Management Development Committee of the Board of Director meetings and agendas, overseeing Cisco’s equity plan, and acting as the SOX Business Control Owner for Human Resources.
He is an experienced Compensation Leader with over 25 years of compensation and human resources experience including compensation, operations, HRIS, client-facing HR, labor relations, and compliance. David is a proven collaborative leader who effectively partners with executives, HR and global partners to deliver global, regional, and functional solutions which enable the achievement of business objectives. He has thorough knowledge and experience in multiple compensation disciplines including corporate and executive compensation, market intelligence & salary range development, corporate & sales incentive design, equity strategy & design, compensation planning solutions, compliance, and client-facing consulting.
David began his professional career in an information technology organization providing consulting services to senior executives and moved into a compensation consulting role where he discovered his passion truly lies.
David has an M.B.A with an emphasis in Human Resources Management and a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from California Polytechnic University, Pomona. He also is a Certified Compensation Professional from World at Work and possesses a Certificate in Advanced Employment Law from the Institute for Applied Management and Law, Inc.
